Microsoft launches Pride season Surface cover and skin

With Pride month around the corner, Microsoft has become the latest company to release rainbow themed accessories for its tech range.

The Surface Pro Pride Cover comes with a rainbow logo on the Surface. On preorder from today, priced at $159.99 in the US, it will be available from 27 June in the US, Canada, the UK and Australia.

They are also releasing a rainbow skin that you can place on an existing Surface Pro. It features the colours from 16 varieties of Pride flags. This sticker goes on sale from today, priced at $14.99 (US) in the US, Canada and Australia but will not be available in the UK sadly.

Microsoft has been working on various LGBT+ initiatives in recent years, including releasing Pride themes for Windows 10 and Office, and a Pride pin for Xbox.

“All the efforts of Microsoft are what we want to carry into our devices, so wouldn’t it be awesome to do something for the pride activities,” says Ralf Groene, head of Microsoft’s hardware design, in a video unveiling the new Surface pride accessories. Microsoft also has more than 4,000 employees marching in pride parades around the world next month as part of these efforts.
