Culture Club announce tour with Alison Moyet

Culture Club’s original line-up are heading on the road with Alison Moyet.

Boy George has always been a controversial figure. From his launch as androgyny driven icon in the 80s through to his various misdemeanors of recent years, there has barely been a moment when he has not caught the eyes of the tabloid press. However, alongside the controversy, there has been an array of truly remarkable releases – both as a soloist and as part of the unforgettable Culture Club.

While Boy George has spent the last year focusing on his solo output, it seems he has been missing his bandmates, with whom he first experienced global superstardom. As a result of killer songs of the ‘Karma Chameleon’ ilk, there is not a country in the world where their sound is not immediately recognised. Having won numerous awards (including a Grammy) and sold over 50 million albums, Culture Club have just announced that the full original line-up – Mikey Craig (bass guitar), Roy Hay (guitar and keyboards), Jon Moss (drums and percussion) and Boy George (lead vocals) – will play a series of live dates… their first in over 15 years! Prior to these live dates Culture Club will be going into the studio to record new material with producer Youth (Paul McCartney, The Verve, Embrace) for an album to be released early in 2015.

Joining Culture Club on this tour will be very special guest Alison Moyet, the well renowned musical icon who has amassed sales of more than 20 million records both as a solo artist and half of influential duo Yazoo. In 2013 Alison returned to her electro roots with her album ‘the minutes’ which was co-written and produced by Guy Sigsworth. The album was a Top 5 hit in the UK and Alison toured throughout the last quarter of the year, visiting UK, Europe, USA and South Africa topping it off with a triumphant show at the Royal Albert Hall in April 2014.
