The beautiful Greek island of Mykonos has always been a popular, gay-friendly destination, and the annual International Gay Leisure Festival is undoubtedly a major attraction. Originally launched in September 2009, XLSIOR, introduced by Destsetters, will hold its fourth edition on 22-26 August. It is expected to draw more 22,000 gay travellers from around the world to Mykonos – making it one of Europe’s biggest events of the summer gay circuit, behind Barcelona’s famous Circuit Festival.
The action-packed festival will feature non-stop, all-night parties in some of Mykonos’ hottest clubs, with guest appearances from some of the best DJs and artists around. Beach parties and world-renowned club nights that have already made huge impacts on the gay scenes in Amsterdam, Barcelona, Ibiza, London and Madrid, such as Rapido, Divotica, Matinee, WE Party and Beyond will be present. Big names from the clubbing and dance circuit who are highly anticipated at the event include Fabio White, Soraya Naöyin, Taito Tikaro, Nalaya and famous DJ Peter Rauhofer – who will headline the festival’s biggest event on the penultimate day.

Elia, one of Mykonos’ beautiful beaches.
XLSIOR Mykonos will not only offer those visiting the island an amazing four-day clubbing experience, but also the chance for them to take in its breathtaking landscapes and sights while they party the time away. The majority of events take place either by, or on, the famous beach of Elia, or right in the heart of the island’s touristic hotspots.
A full weekend ticket with access to all events costs €155 (£123), with VIP passes available for €295 (£234). For more information and a calendar listing everything that will be going on, you can visit the official Facebook page, or join the group.
