Former NBA player, John Amaechi is joining Out For Sport London in their next men’s basketball taster session.
On Friday 17 August 2012, between 7pm and 9pm, you can head along to Britannia Leisure Center, near Old St and Hoxton tube station, to shoot some hoops and gain some valuable advice from one of the worlds most high-profile and influential gay athletes.
NBA’s John Amaechi will be on hand with some training tips.
Amaechi, who came out publicly in his 2007 memoir Man in The Middle, will be on hand to teach some new skills and training tips, during this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
The event, run by London Cruisers, promises to be exciting and a novel way to beat those Olympic blues. Take along your kit, and join in the fun. You never know, you might discover you’re the next Michael Jordan!
London Cruisers are a gay men’s and women’s basketball teams playing in London and international tournaments. Training sessions for the Men’s team are on Friday evening, between 7pm and 9pm at Britannia Leisure Centre and Women’s training is on Thursday evenings. Interested?
