Nick Grimshaw: ‘I’d really like to go out with Frank Ocean’

It might have been a long debated topic, but Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw has spoken openly for the first time about being gay.

In an interview with The Guardian, the soon to be Breakfast show host said he was happy to acknowledge he was gay, after a reporter informed him of a fan-made website that pondered Grimshaw’s sexuality: ‘The truth is that no one really knows because he’s not directly answered that question,’ the fan posted, before adding, ‘we all love ‘Grimmy’ either way!’

When prompted further, the DJ, who counts Pixie Geldof and designer Henry Holland as some of his closest friends, said, ‘I’ve just not met anyone that I thought ‘oh, I really like you that much’. I work so much, when I do go out, I’d rather go out with my friends. I rather do that than, like, go out on the prowl. I literally can’t think of anything worse.’

‘I’d really like to go out with Frank Ocean…I think he might be whiny, though. Like, why have you not called me? He might be a bit wet. I think I’m just forcing that Frank thing…as soon as I decide, I talk myself out of it!’

We can’t wait for the Grimshaw takeover on Radio 1, it’s going to make our mornings that little bit brighter…

Nick Grimshaw’s Radio 1 breakfast show starts on 24 September 2012.
