After years of speculation, the previously bisexual popstar has confirmed that he’s gay.

Back in 2009 he told Dutch magazine Gay And Night that he’d never labelled himself, saying ‘Call me whatever you want. Call me bisexual, if you need a term for me. I’ve never limited my life, I’ve never limited who I sleep with.’

In a recent interview with Instinct magazine, due to be released in September, he came clean saying, ‘If you ask me am I gay, I say yeah. Are these songs about my relationship with a man? I say yeah.’

‘And it’s only through my music that I’ve found the strength to come to terms with my sexuality beyond the context of just my lyrics. This is my real life.’

Welcome to the fold, Mika, it’s good to have you!

To celebrate, here’s an old school Mika tune.

Mika’s third album, The Origin of Love, will be released in the UK on 16 September.
