So So Gay
Growing up as someone who is LGBTQ can be funny, depressing and sometimes just heart-breaking, from someone else’s point of view naturally. The point of the Born This Way blog has been to give air to some of these stories, to instruct and help those going through the time themselves, and to aid in advising parents and teachers that these things can, and do, happen. Like all popular blogs of this nature, it is now becoming available in a coffee-table book format.
Each one of the stories included in the book comes with a cute little picture of the teller at that age. Covering every time period from the forties up until the present day, the stories cover a variety of ages, with each one being a unique insight into how that person grew up.
The book, collated by Paul Vitagliano, is due to go on sale at the beginning of October, with writers including drag superstar Jackie Beats, singer Sia, make-up artist Billy B, Erasure lead vocalist Andy Bell, and legendary gossiper Perez Hilton. These are all mixed in with stories of the LGBTQ community from all over the world.
We can’t wait for the opportunity to see this in print and read just how it conveys the message, ‘Yes, I’m gay. And I was born this way. I’ve know it since I was very young and this is my story’.
