Love is in the air this Christmas. Or at least it is for London couple Joe and Will – the loved up pair who’s private video diary has become an online sensation.
The short film, marking their first year together, was meant as a romantic Christmas prezzie between the couple. But after Joe fumbled the privacy settings on video sharing site Vimeo, it became an instant online hit.
‘Will couldn’t believe it when I discovered all the blogs and news sites that it had been posted on’, Joe told So So Gay. ‘Neither of us knew what to do really, we panicked initially and took it down at first while we looked at the pros & cons of keeping it online. I’m still baffled how it went viral and who decided to begin spreading it about. It was a huge shock!’
The couple, who met whilst working on the same TV show, are seen on outings to museums, personal trips away and on country walks, and some viewers have commented on its similarity to a recent Australian equal marriage video. So is a winter wedding on the cards? ‘I don’t think so! We’re moving in together early next year, one step at a time!’
But loved-up Joe admitted it’s been a long wait to find Mr Right, ‘I went a year or so after coming out thinking, ‘right, I need to find a boyfriend!’ It was only after I moved to London and got my first big job in TV that I think I stopped looking and Will came along!’
But for those of us still hopelessly clutching the mistletoe this Christmas eve, there’s still some hope: ‘My message would be, enjoy Christmas and don’t worry about not being loved up because Mr (or Mrs) Right will often come along when you least expect it.’
