BRIGHT LIGHTS, BIG CITY – Just what London Theatre needs!!

Admittedly the title of this piece sounds a little sarcastic, it’s completely unintentional. I’m completely serious when I say that London, no, I am desperate for a show like this!

Running from the 4th -25th November will be the UK professional premiere of this musical based on the cult classic novel by Jay McInerney, which was later turned into a film starring Michael J Fox and Phoebe Cates.

BRIGHT LIGHTS, BIG CITY is the story of Jamie, a struggling young writer who finds himself spiralling out of control as he confronts his demons in the club scene of 1984 New York City. This sung-through rock musical follows Jamie through the week in which he hits rock bottom before finding the hope

of redemption.  Often compared to international mega-hit RENT, the pop-rock score has flavours of far more recent cult classics such as Bare and Spring Awakening.
